The food frenzy is over for now...

Well, except for the Jewish penicillin in 2 pots on the stove (my MIL is sick, sadly), I'm done with the major cooking for a while.

Now, let the spring cleaning frenzy begin. I know it's early, but still...

There is something nice about starting the year with a sparkling clean house. Hopefully, I can get it all clean and still get sleep between now and Saturday.

It's also my new year's resolution that I will have all I need to donate out on the curb for pickup Monday morning. Hooray for the cerebral palsy folks who sent the post card. I love it that I don't have to stuff things in the car and head somewhere.

Here's the big challenge. I have a ton of kitchen stuff. Pots, pans, and gadgets. Lots of gadgets. I mean - how many food processors does a person need. Well, I have small, medium and large and I have reasons to keep them. Really, I do use them all. The medium sized one not so much, but still, it has a juicer attachment and it's the only juicer we have that can produce enough fresh squeezed juice for a brunch......

What is bringing on my desire to edit my kitchen supplies?

I have a ton of food on the counter looking like junk. Yesterday while at a friend's house, I realized that I have friends who have much smaller kitchens and much more food in their cabinets than I do. Somehow, that just doesn't seem right.

I ought to apply the same rule to kitchen stuff that I apply to clothes. If I haven't used it in over a year, I should let someone who needs it have it.

This is going to be SO HARD. Maybe almost as hard as losing the 25 pounds I need to lose.

I'll report back in 2010!

Oh my goodness, I am humbled by this woman

As I prepare for the holiday festivities, I was pointed in the direction of a blog that is just amazing. It's called bakerella. You have to check it out!!!!

I can't count the number of her ideas that I want to try. She uses a lot of mixes and pre-purchased stuff to make it easier, but who needs that? I'll just adapt her creativity with my yummy homemade stuff.

I am making pumpkin cheesecake for Thanksgiving, but I might be tempted to make her pumpkin pie bites too.

Happy holiday food prep!

YUM!

Welcome to My Little Corner of the Blogosphere

Hi all!

Well, thanks to Tracy and Thom (who also got me into Facebook), I figured I'd dabble a bit in blogging.

Not sure how often I'll come to my little corner, but here I am.

For now, this will be short as I am busy getting ready for Jacob's 9th (!) birthday party. We'll all be making our own pizzas and homemade ice cream sundaes. When we aren't stuffing our faces, we'll be watching silly old cartoons like Tom and Jerry.

General merriment expected to ensue.
